Open calls

The Absent Gallery is delighted to hold regular “Open” style exhibitions in The Main Gallery.

Open Exhibitions

The Absent Gallery is dedicated to running a series of Open style exhibitions, professionally curated from selected artwork submitted by artists from Somerset responding to our Open Calls.

The selected artworks will be hung in a wonderful virtual interactive 3D gallery, where visitors can enter at any time to take a virtual walk around the gallery floor and at their own pace stop and view each piece of artwork in detail.

Each exhibition will be curated as in the real world, with each exhibition having a consistent high standard of carefully selected content that creates a united experience.

“TIPPING POINT”

Submissions for this Open Call are now closed.

Close to our heart is climate change and the human impact on this world, which is why The Absent Gallery is creating this Open Call to artists, to make some noise. We all have a voice through our art and we want to hear yours, nice and loud. We are looking to create an exhibition with a very powerful unified message, one that is not shying away from the cold hard facts, showing all the bitter truths, hopes and fears for the future of planet Earth.

TIPPING POINT  welcomes 2D and sculptural* submissions of any style and medium. The theme of this exhibition is CLIMATE CHANGE and the HUMAN IMPACT on the environment. Entries are asked to reflect any aspect of climate change, global warming, environmental issues and the human impact on the environment in anyway you wish.

This is a global problem and we are therefore inviting UK and International submissions. There are no restrictions on size, larger work is well suited to the virtual environment and we welcome submissions from large format artists.

This exhibition will be professionally curated from selected artwork submissions. The selected artworks will be hung in a wonderful virtual interactive 3D gallery. No commission is taken on any sales. Sale enquiries are handled directly by the artist.  Submission fees apply. Submission does not guarantee inclusion.
